Greenville Partnership for Philanthropy (GPP) was founded in 2014 out of a desire from members of the social, public and private sectors to develop a platform to increase the impact of philanthropy in our community.  Philanthropy has historically been a fragmented field nationally with funders often operating in isolation from their peers and nonprofit partners.  In addition, Greenville has fewer philanthropic assets per capita than other growing counties nationally and most of our grantmaking organizations have few or no staff.  By helping funders get to know each other better, learn together about our community’s challenges and those working to solve them, and identifying best practices in effective philanthropy, GPP is helping funders make the most of their social, moral, intellectual, reputational and financial investments in Greenville.

Hollingsworth Funds’ Involvement

Hollingsworth is a founding member of GPP and we provide annual operating support to maintain and grow its activities. In order for multi-stakeholder initiatives to be successful, the individual stakeholder groups at those tables must be strong. Philanthropy as a community stakeholder is no different and we strive to ensure that our philanthropic partners have a platform to learn and act together.
