Greenville Partnership for Philanthropy (GPP) was founded in 2014 out of a desire from members of the nonprofit, public and private sectors to develop a platform to increase the impact of philanthropy in our community. Greenville has fewer philanthropic assets per capita than other growing counties nationally and most of our grantmaking organizations have few or no staff.  By helping funders get to know each other better, learn together about our community’s challenges and those working to solve them, and identifying best practices in effective philanthropy, GPP is helping funders maximize opportunities to leverage assets and make the most of their social, moral, intellectual, reputational and financial investments in Greenville.

Hollingsworth Funds’ Involvement

Hollingsworth is a founding member of GPP and in addition to serving as a member of the Steering Committee, we partner with other funders to provide annual operating support to maintain and grow its activities. Philanthropy—from private foundations, corporate giving, and individual donors—has played a critical role in our community’s success. We believe, a strong philanthropic sector is an important component to the continued success of our community. By providing a platform for philanthropic partners to learn and act together, GPP ensures that Greenville’s tradition of public-private partnerships continues.
