Public Education Partners (PEP), was established in 1985 to collaborate with community members, educators and elected officials to support and strengthen public education and student achievement in Greenville County Schools. PEP envisions that every child in Greenville County Schools will graduate ready for college, careers, and civic responsibility. PEP fosters innovation and student success in schools and deepens connections between schools and the community.
Hollingsworth Funds’ Involvement
Economic mobility is dependent on students being prepared for post-secondary and career success. We have provided project support to Make Summer Count, PEP’s evidenced-based program to mitigate summer reading loss. As PEP has evolved into an intermediary for K-12 public school reform, Hollingsworth has invested general operating support to sustain and grow its work. In addition to its role as an intermediary, PEP is also an implementation partner in OnTrack Greenville and an active participant in key initiatives such as affordable housing and transportation. With an intense focus on aligning investments into research-based initiatives aimed at strategies for closing the academic achievement gap, PEP is working across sectors to advocate for strong student achievement and effective teachers.
