Brenda is Executive Vice President and Provost for the Greenville Health System (GHS) Health Sciences Center. After 31 years of experience in higher education, she joined GHS in 2007 where she provides executive leadership for academics. Her leadership within the Health Sciences Center has expanded GHS’s partnership with Clemson University, Furman University, and University of South Carolina. Brenda received her B.S. degree from Mississippi State, a master’s degree from Clemson University, and a doctorate degree from Clemson University. She has devoted her professional career to academics with a focus across the continuum of pipeline through professional degrees. She is the founder of the GHS Medical Experience (MedEx) Academy program launched in summer 2010 to provide students (high school and college) an opportunity to experience the “real world” of health care. She represents GHS on numerous boards such as Community Foundation, Greenville Chamber, Greenville Tech Foundation, United Way, and YMCA, and is past Chair of the Greenville Chamber Board.
